Hello Everyone!
It seems quite odd that I'm on here doing a review about deodorant... but I figured that this could really help a lot of women decide to switch over from regular deodorants to something more natural that actually works! I'm doing a review on the All-Natural Lavanila Laboratories The Healthy Deodorant in Pure Vanilla.
When I was younger and my Mom bought be deodorant for the first time she bought me one that was aluminum free because she said there were some health concerns with using the regular drugstore brands. According to WebMD, the leading cause of breast cancer is the use of antiperspirant. Antiperspirants prevent your body from purging (releasing) toxins, which means they get trapped and can find there way into the lymph nodes. Some also say that antiperspirants have been linked to cause Alzheimer's Disease. Ever since then I've been a little paranoid about it and I try to stay away from ones that have high aluminum percentages. I've heard about the Lavanila Deodorants for over a year and I've looked at them multiple times at Sephora but I never went for it. A few days ago, as I was strolling through Sephora before work, I decided it was finally time to just get one and try it out.
The product contains NO Parabens, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, Silicones, Propylene, Glycol, Mineral Oils, Synthetic Dyes, Sulfates, Chemical Sunscreens or Aluminum. It is also cruelty-free and vegan. In today's world I feel that it is a huge claim to be that free of all of the harmful substances that we hear about in the news and on the internet. It comes in the following fragrances: Pure Vanilla, Vanilla Coconut, Vanilla Grapefruit, Vanilla Blackberry, Vanilla Lavender, Vanilla Passionfruit, and Fresh Vanilla Lemon. The "freshly-scented deodorant provides superior, long-lasting odor protection." It also contains soothing essential oils along with powerful anti-ooxidants and beta glucan technology (texturing agents and as soluble fiber supplements) for daily defense. It's been clinically proven and the brand is dermatologist recommended.
After trying this product, I feel like I never want to go back. Why put something on your body every single day that we've been told can cause cancer and other harmful things to your body? Now, it is kind of pricey, its $14.00, however if you take a step back and think about how much you spend on food, makeup, hair products, and random beauty products, $14.00 is less than your average high end lipstick and so on. It's totally doable. One of the things I was worried about is how well it actually works for me. So far I have not had any problems as far as body odor goes, however in other reviews I've read I've noticed that most people say to stick to your regular deodorant on days where you'll be working out or out sweating.
That being said, I think all of you women out there should give this a try. It's nothing by my honest opinion!
Cheers,
Haleigh

I stopped wearing conventional deodorant a long time ago but I haven't tried this deodorant. Truthfully, I seldom have to wear deodorant anymore. I know that sounds weird but when I'm eating healthy and exercising regularly, I just don't have body odor. That doesn't mean I don't sweat... lol. Anyway, I still enjoy using healthy deodorants from time to time, so I'll have to check this one out! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense to me! I have heard the same thing about hair, if you only wash your hair a couple times a week your body normalizes and doesn't produce as much oil so your hair actually stays clean longer! haven't tried it, but sounds similar to what you're saying! if you try the deodorant let me know how you like it! xo
